You can require manual approval of the 1 or 2 or 3 ... first posts, by a new user. And if you suspect someone is maybe a spammer, or will post spam later (or toxic angry things), you can mark him/her as a moderate threat and then his/her comments will never be shown, until manually reviewed by you.
Is this what you were asking about? "Security" is a bit ambiguous :- )

This looks really promising. I have a question though: why make it so it only works for Jekyll? I haven't researched this too much but a self hostable alternative to Disqus seems like a great idea :)

And there's a

snippet one can insert into any kind of pages, so it should work mostly everywhere. I've been thinking about a WordPress plugin too maybe ...
